Chief Minister M Karunanidhi once again showed his love and preference for Tamil cinema.
On Sunday (January 2) Karunanidhi avoided going to the airport to personally receive Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and instead launched poet Vairamuthu’s book.
Vairamuthu’s Aayiram Paadalgal a select selection of 1000 songs written by Vairamuthu was released by the CM.
The top two stars of Kollywood Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, music maestro AR Rahman, director Shankar, Vadivelu along with industry veterans like K Balachandar, MS Viswanathan, and Vali were on stage .
Karunanidhi said among thunderous applause from the audiences: "Despite my duty to receive the Prime Minister , I’m here because all along I have great respect for Tamil and its poets".
