Her last release Tum Mile might not have raked in the moolah at the box office, but Soha Ali Khan has already moved on and is all confident about her forthcoming project Chemistry.
"Chemistry is a romantic comedy. I play an ambitious girl who falls in love with a boy-next-door," begins the actress.
Soha also remains impassive to the grapevine that she was offered the role only because of her off-screen friendship with co-producer Shreyas Talpade, who also plays the lead in the film. "Shreyas found me suitable for the role and that’s the reason I’m in. There is nothing more to it," she says matter-of-factly.
Will the actress be willing to test waters in Kollywood as well? "I have a few Kollywood offers but I’m not taking it up as I want to concentrate on my career in Bollywood."
Though she hails from a family that is associated and respected by the film industry, it was not all that easy for Soha to establish herself as an actress in Bollywood. "Mom helped me a lot during the initial days of my career. She is one of my best critics. But of late, she has slowly started to withdraw. I think she is doing the right thing."
Quiz the actress if she would don a bikini in any of her forthcoming films, which her mother Sharmila Tagore had done in her heydays and the answer is a strict ’no’. "I wouldn’t mind doing something aesthetically driven, but even then, there is a line. What mom did was her personal choice," she clarifies.
The actress is also quite eager to watch the Superstar’s latest release. "I love Rajiniji but I’m yet to watch Endhiran. All my friends are raving about the film and the trailers and reviews also look interesting. Hats off to Rajiniji who can entertain his fans even at this age," she concludes.
