ohhhh how the Barbie aisle at Toy R' Us (a US Toy super-store)....would lure and enchant me with all it's hot pink splendor...
I never had the Barbie dream house...but, boy did I want it.....I did have one silver Barbie Corvette parked under my bed though!
Barbie has an iconic status if style...my fav are the vintage Barbie's...like in the paintings....my mom still has some...but we weren't allowed to play with them (strict instructions from my Nana)...they were like the Holy Grail of Barbie-hood! Oh how I longed to put their little vintage outfits on them......
As I walked down around the corner from Spring St on 6th, in downtown LA...with hot cups of hot beverages...I saw these "dolls" in the window of a little store crammed with "previously-loved" items....called FLEA...look at the paintings of a girlhood wonder!

and oh BARBIE!!! do i wish i knew who painted these....I really thought they were photos til' I saw them up lcose with my eyeballs! and MOM, you'd love these!!!!
